Clothing

A new recruit asked one of our members if we were "button counters".  Most of us did not even know what that meant until we asked. Actually we don't count buttons because most of us couldn't state - off the top of our head - how many buttons one should have.  It was only recently that some of us knew what 'farby' meant.

You only have to look at our photos to see that our basic approach is "Progress - Not Perfection".

You will see a lot of shirt sleeves that will be disappearing under strict orders from our Captain ( seen below in shirt sleeves).

We can all remember the time when we were practicing drill and someone showed up with a hat - oh the "oos" and "ah's".  The same happened when someone got a shirt and another member a cartridge box. Getting a kit together takes time - and money.

Remembering where we came from allows us to be ready to lend the new guy things to wear. It makes us quick to make suggestions about how someone can get prepared without taking out a second mortgage - or marrying a seamstress.

Here, below, will soon be some of the things we've learned.

So many styles to choose from!
