Frequently, Musters are held at Tarkey Field in Woburn.
Thanks to the good people of Woburn, the Field provides us with a site where we can safely perform Black Powder training for new recruits and practice for other members.
Marching drill is also an important aspect of the Muster and the Field gives us ample room to learn new and practice old maneuvers.
Tarkey Field is also the site of Pathway of the Patriots - a major event for Gardner's Regiment - the original pathway used by the Woburn Militia to fight the British Regulars during their retreat from the battles at Lexington and Concord.
Many of the photos you will see on this site were taken at Tarkey Field in Woburn.
Below are the directions to Tarkey Field.
If you are going North on Route 93:
Get off the Montvale Avenue exit and go Left off the Ramp under 93. Follow Montvale Avenue to Woburn Center and go 3/4 the way around the Rotary. Make sure the Mobile Station and the Woburn Library are on your Right.
This is Pleasant Street. Follow this to the Fork and take the Left Fork which is Lexington Street. Take this to 4 Corners and go straight onto Russell Street.
Look for the KFC at the bottom of Russell Street. Go to the top of the hill and look on the Right for Tarkey Field. You will see some boulders blocking the small parking area.
Get off the Route 3 South Exit to Winchester - This is Cambridge Road.
Follow this to the KFC at the intersection called the 4 Corners.
Go Right onto Russell Street and at the Top of the Hill is the Tarkey Site.
The site itself is named after the Tarkey School which previously stood on the site.
